The end is in sight

Ok, I'm not sure where the semester went but...here we go in order.
I'm not sure at this stage of university life that I have grown as much as I revisit what I think and why. I write every day, I have a minimum number of words that I allow myself to get away with on busy days but it is something I do. I would rather face a test with a hundred essay questions than fifty multiple guess any day.

I think the last two, Gaimon and Shakespeare were my favorites, Gaimon because he is so sick and twisted, and he has done so much work in so many areas besides the graphic novel genre. And you have to at least admire the work of the masters. Sometimes its easy to read too much into the bard but I like his sense of humor.
I am not a fan of the graphic novel-at all. I am a writer and everything I read, I examine as an author and ask would this be better served in a regular novel. So there were a couple I really tore apart for that reason, and I still do not like the graphics- sorry Shannon, no convert here-lol.
I wasn't real fond of peer editing, and I have gone over my reasons with Shannon, and I would make a few people angry- not that I really care if they are, but there are others that I would not intentionally hurt their feelings so...and I really do not like poetry.Especially when they are long since dead and there isn't a crystal ball to tell us if they really had a message or were they just screwing with us...
As an English major, I get everything literary wise anyway, I just try to filter that which I do not like(like poetry) so there's less of it to deal with, and I am not real sure what I was hoping for. My advisor changed my schedule and plopped me into this class the week prior to the start of the semester so I was hoping the instructor had a personality- in any "oh God is it morning?" class- that is a huge plus. Then I was a bit curious as to all the 'comic book' materials we had, but other wise I try to go into a class expecting the best that way I usually get it.

About the peer review.......It is kinda hit or miss because we are not all "peers" in this area. Its also a pain in the ass when someone doest "get" whats going on in a paper so they try to change it. On the other hand I like reviewing others papers, I want to teach Eng. post-secondary anyway so... no big deal. We can (should?) help others to become better writers. I think that most students in this class are at pretty much the same level so it is probably a good exercise for them. Pretty standard in Eng. classes.
